Message from Chairman

Dear fellow Parent,

Greetings! I am Shirley Lo, Chairman of the South View Parents' Association (SVPA).

My team and I came on board in November 2006. The present EXCO and sub-committee members comprise both old and new blood. We hope our confluence will inject refreshing and novel ideas into SVPA as well as enhance its structure and support. Currently, we have six sub-committees headed by the EXCO members to run our programmes and serve our members  as well as the school.

As parents, our interest, involvement and commitment will send a strong and positive signal to our children that we care about them; that we are interested in what they do in school and that we want to be involved together with them. We want to "partner" our children and the school in this important journey of our children's lives. SVPA is the channel and avenue for us to have greater involvement and contribution in the school in whatever ways we can.

SVPA hopes to work with all parents as one of the stakeholders of the school. In unity, we can assist and support the school and our children to realise their vision as "a vibrant learning organisation, the best from all, in all". As parents of the school, we are part of the makeup of the "all" in the vision. Therefore, it is imperative that we work in partnership and collaborate with the school. Our joining the SVPA and serving the school shows a spirit of servitude in us that can be witnessed and experienced by our children. By being part of the SVPA, we are working with the school to carry out part of its mission to “nurture and inspire all (our children) to be men and women of character with a passion for learning and serving".

I am very keen for all of us, as parents of the school, to get to know each other better. To be able to support and encourage one another and work together with the school as a corporate body. Our desire and commitment to achieve this will surely be felt by our children who will share our sentiments and be encouraged to forge strong fellowship among themselves. Together, we strive to stand as one united corporate body with the school to achieve the school's vision, mission and goals.

SVPA wants to hear from you and work with you. If you have any concern, suggestion or feedback, please feel free to email me at hoo_shirley@yahoo.com.sg or any of the EXCO members, whose particulars can be found in this website.

In unison, we will be able to build a stronger community spirit in South View so that we can continue to be a viable and purposeful entity that can represent parents as a united corporate body. I look forward to working in partnership with you.

With warmest regards
Mrs. Shirley Lo
