Art

The aims of art education are to enable every child to:

enjoy art
communicate visually
make meaning through connecting with society and culture

Our Art programmes centre around three Big ideas:- Self and Immediate Environment, Singapore Past, Present and Future and The World and Place around us. Students explore different artistic expressions and make connections to the artworks which inspire them. Through art making and art appreciation develop creative critical thinking skills. Acquiring the skills in appreciating and communicating about the artworks enhance the development of Social and Emotional Learning competencies.

Batik Art and Museum-Based Learning	Primary 4	To enable students to: Appreciate the origins of Batik. Learn the process of traditional way of batik making and the correct use of traditional batik art tools (such as tjanting). Apply Batik art making skills such as waxing, painting and layering in their artwork.

Music

We believe that all children are musical, and we seek to develop their aural and expressive abilities and sensibilities to empower them to appreciate and participate in music.

The aims for music education are to:

Acquire and apply musical skills, knowledge and understanding through Listening, Creating and Performing
Develop abilities for creative expression and communication
Develop an understanding and appreciation of music in local and global cultures
Cultivate a life-long enjoyment and involvement in music
