Objectives
The South View Primary School Choir (SV Nightingales) provides students with the opportunity to discover the joy of singing while developing confidence, teamwork, and musical skills. Students learn proper vocal techniques, ensemble skills, and musical expression in a fun and supportive environment. Students learn values resilience through regular practice, responsibility in preparing for performances, and respect as they work closely with peers. Through meaningful musical experiences, the choir helps students enjoy the arts and build teamwork
Main Activities
Pupils will showcase what they have learnt in the following activities:
Weekly Choir Practices - Focuses on vocal technique, ensemble singing, listening skills and musicality. Sectionals and small group practices to strengthen part-singing. Exposure to musical activities
School Events - opportunities for members to demonstrate confidence and stage presence
SYF Arts Presentation - opportunities for members to perform at the national level
International Choral Competition - Exposure to high-level performance standards and broader musical experiences.
Choir Exchanges and Masterclasses - opportunities for choristers to sharpen technique and gain inspiration from experienced musicians.
Values-in-action - encourage students to use their skills to bring joy to others, reinforce the spirit of service and gratitude
